Mario Tennis Aces is the next entry in the Mario Tennis series and will be available for the Nintendo Switch in a little over a week. The game looks like the much-needed improvement that the series needed as it brings back some elements that have been absent in recent entries.

The game wil feature the classic Nintendo characters from the Mario franchise—without forgetting Donkey Kong as the mandatory guest—and will even feature an Adventure mode, as well as bringing back RPG elements that had been long lost.

Today Nintendo have announced that Koopa Troopa and Blooper will be joining the roster of playale characters in Mario Tennis Aces. The announcement was made official during Nintendo's Treehouse Live at the E3. According to IGN, the characters will be available sooner for players that participate in the July and August online tournaments. Players that participate in July will get early access to Koopa Troopa and the ones that participate in August will get early access to Blooper.

It's worth mentioning that these characters will be made available via a free update later on so participating in the tournaments isn't necessary to get the characters and is more of an early reward for those who got enough points to unlock them.

Unleash an arsenal of shots and strategies in all-out tennis battles with friends, family, and fan-favorite Mushroom Kingdom characters. Whether you play locally, online, or using simple motion controls, intense rallies await!

Mario Tennis Aces will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 22nd of June.
