Overcooked, from first time developer Ghost Town Games, is a cooking simulation game which provides a local co-operative gameplay experience that allows players to control numerous chefs in different kitchens that are filled with various hazards and obstacles with the goal of working together to rapidly prepare meals to specific orders under a provided time limit. With a menu ranging from soup to steak and everything in between and kitchen scenarios that are built around destroying your success,
Overcooked is the type of game that requires teamwork in order to advance.
Now, thanks to the flood of news at E3, we know that we will be getting
Overcooked 2, and in less than two months time! Once again published by Team17, the sequel in the franchise will look to add a number of exciting factors to add to both the games difficulty and terms of replayability. In addition, it will also feature even more ways to challenge you, with new obstacles blocking you from preparing your food, an extreme case being a level which starts in a hot air balloon and winds up crashing you into a different kitchen.
With the new addition of both wireless as well as online multiplayer, there is no question that things are going to be heating up as players use the online features to take full advantage of the bevy of new themes, chefs, and recipes. One of the biggest changes that will alter gameplay, and possibly frienships, is the new ability to throw ingredients. That's right, that means you can toss your items into pans, blenders, onto the floor, or to other players from across the map. You can check out all of the juicy details in Nintendo's E3 reveal trailer below!
Overcooked 2 is serving up more chefs, more kitchens, more recipes, more co-op madness and even more Kevin with the second helping of concentrated co-op chaos! Buddy it up or go it alone as you cook up a storm, chopping, steaming, and frying your way through dynamic and outright crazy levels. Now with online multiplayer for up to four chefs, there is no such thing as too many cooks and the steaks have never been higher as you prepare to save the Onion Kingdom... again.
What do you think? Do you have what it takes to be the top chef? Overcooked 2 comes to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC on August 7th.
