Just a few days ago Playtonic revealed
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair to the world, introducing a brand-new adventure for the duo; this time, however, not in the form of a 3D action-adventure title, but as a 2D platformer similar the Retro Games' critically acclaimed
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is, almost unapologetically, a game inspired by the
Donkey Kong Country titles that Retro Studios has released — and it is one of the reasons why Playtonic's new game is already looking like it will be a great experience for players.
The trailer for the game looked great, since the platforming seems to have been thoroughly revised in order to give players a proper 2D platforming experience, and from what we can see in the latest footage — courtesy of the Nintendo Treehouse crew — it looks like there's more to
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair than we could see in the trailer.
