Former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is one of the premiere faces of the UFC. As such, we already know he will be the voice of EA Sports UFC 4. But this weekend, he also revealed another role he'll have for the game: ratings adjustor.
"We are bringing the next level of authenticity and sports integration so that UFC 4 can resemble exactly what's going on in the real life Octagon," Cormier said.
Following select pay-per-views, Cormier will work with EA to provide feedback on the different fighters. Ratings and rankings for fighters will be adjusted from month to month throughout the year based on their performances in the real life Octagon. The results in real life will help determine the ratings of their video game counterparts and if they should go up or down in the game's rankings.
In big real world UFC moments, we’re going to be handing the reins of our ratings over to Daniel Cormier who will decide whose ratings go up, and whose go down. If you want your favorite fighter to be a 5 star fighter, you’re gonna have to take that up with DC. Safe to say he’s pretty excited about this…
EA Sports UFC 4 is set to release on August 14. However, if you pre-order now you can unlock bonus fighters Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, two of boxings most prominant competitors. UFC 4 will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A next-gen release is on the table, according to EA, but nothing official has been announced as of yet.
