Capcom announced today the launch date for its upcoming compilation of classic fighting games, MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. The collection bundles some of the best and most beloved fighting games of all time, including one of which will be making its modern console and PC debut in the United States.

As previously revealed, MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics includes the following seven legendary arcade titles:

  • X-Men Children of the Atom
  • Marvel Super Heroes
  • Marvel vs. Capcom Clash of Super Heroes
  • Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
  • Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter
  • X-Men vs Street Fighter
  • The Punisher

The highlight of the bundle is easily Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. The fourth installment in the crossover fighting game series lets you play as characters from both Capcom's video game franchises and Marvel Comics' various comic book series. Originally released in Japanese arcades in 2000, the game received multiple ports over the years, including Dreamcast, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, and iOS. Howveer, the game was eventually pulled from digital storefronts. With its inclusion in the MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics compilation, it marks the first console re-release of the game since the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were delisted in 2013.

The Punisher is a beat 'em-up arcade game that was released in 1993. The game stars the iconic Marvel Comics antihero along with S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury as the second player's character. Together, they embark on a journey to defeat the Kingpin and bring down his crime organization. This is the first time the game will be available on modern consoles and PC in the United States.

MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will be released digitally on Thursday, September 12 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation4, and PC via Steam. A physical version will launch months later on Friday, November 22 for Nintendo Switch and PS4. There's been no mention of a release on Xbox consoles.

With a release date now set, pre-orders for MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics are now available for the Nintendo Switch and Steam digital versions. All physical pre-orders will come with an exclusive, 32-page comic featuring legendary characters and Super Heroes from across the various titles in the collection.

There seems to be no price difference between the digital and physical editions of the game. It is priced at $49.99 across Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC, regardless of digital or physical.
