Capcom has recently announced that they will be making
Street Fighter V free-to-play tomorrow, on the
23rd of April, through the
5thf of May; giving players the chance to try out the latest entry in the iconic fighting series for a little over one week.
All pllayers need in order to try out
Street Fighter V for free need to have a PlayStation 4(PlayStation Plus subscription not required) or a Steam client in order to download the game — which includes all of the content from the original version of the game, as well as the new modes introduced in
Street Figther V: Arcade Edition.
It isn't just people who hasn't yet got the chance to play
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition the ones getting a free trial, s players who already own either of the versions of the game will now have free access to Akuma, Blanka, Juri, and Menat — also for a limited time.
If players choose to purchase any of these aforementioned characters during the free trial, all of the progress they make will be kept once the free trial period is over.
Street Fighter V is a game that was quite controversial upon releasing, with a bunch of modes that were staples of the series not present in the game. The game has, since, added a lot of content that make it now a proper fighting title, and having people try it out for free is a good way to promote the game.
It'll be particularly interesting to see how many new players this free trial brings in, especially considering that NetherRealm Studios'
Mortal Kombat 11 releases worldwide tomorrow, the same day the
Street Fighter V free trial begins.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is a brand-new disc that includes all base content from the original Street Fighter V release, Arcade Mode and a code for Character Pass 1 and 2 content, which includes 12 playable characters and 12 premium costumes.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Steam.
