Last week Dotemu revealed that fans of the Streets of Rage series would be getting some surprise reveals for Streets of Rage 4 this week, and they have not failed to deliver.

It has just been announced that Cherry Hunter, who is the daughter of the original Streets of Rage's Adam Hunter and even sports his father and uncle Sammy's signature yellow shirt , will also be joining Blaze and Axel as one of the main playable characters in Streets of Rage 4.

The surprises didn't end there, however, since the Cherry Hunter's character trailer also reveals that a character that looks very much like Shiva will also be in the game. Considering that Axel and Blaze are now older and look somewhat older too, it is unlikely that this new character is Shiva, although it would be interesting if it was a relative, or even his own son.

Featuring hand-drawn visuals from the team behind 2017’s gorgeous Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake, Streets of Rage 4 builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem.

Streets of Rage 4 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in 2019.
