Even though
Final Fantasy XV's Noctis Lucis Caelum joined the Tekken 7 roster back in March, we're still getting some very interesting details about how this
rather unusual collaboration, or how the idea of him becoming a DLC character for the game came to be.
In this new behind the scenes for
Tekken 7, we are joined once again by
Tekken 7 and
Final Fantasy XV game directors Katsuhiro Harada and Hajime Tabata—respectively—as they discuss about Noctis and Lars becoming fishing buddies and how both of them are begginers as spotted by fans on Twitter.
Katsuhiro Harda mentions that Noctis fishing in the game had a far bigger response from fans than they had ever anticipated. While Harada says he has little to no experience, he mentions that the rod grips really caught the attention of fishing fans on Twitter, who were quick to notice that Noctis and Lars are only beginners when it comes to fishing.
Mr. Harada explains that there were things done intentionally like Noctis' fishing stance is more relaxed than Lars'—who tilts forward when fishing. In
Final Fantasy XV, fans will remember that Noctis has some experience fishing, but some keen observers noticed that both Noctis and Lars' grips are simply not good in
Tekken 7's fishing cutscene. As Mr. Tabata says, both of the characters are at the same level in terms of fishing skills and that's probably why they became fishing buddies.
Take a look, and don't forget to tun on those subtitles:
Tekken 7 represents the final chapter of the 20-year-long Mishima feud. Unveil the epic ending to the emotionally charged family warfare between the members of the Mishima Clan as they struggle to settle old scores and wrestle for control of a global empire, putting the balance of the world in peril.
Tekken 7 is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
