SNK's The King of Fighters XIV has been out for a few years now, with the game releasing for the PlayStation 4 and Windows back in August of 2016. Although the game has been getting continuous support from SNK, it all pointed at the game not being ported to other consoles after launch until some recent comments by one of the game's producer may hint at the game being considered for the Nintendo Switch.
In a recent interview with DualShockers, SNK Producer Yasuyuki Oda was asked whether there would be any possibility that The King of Figthers XIV could end up making its way into the Nintendo Switch, to what Oda simply replied with a "It would definitely be a possibility".
SNK is currently working on the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, a Nintendo Switch exclusive title with a compilation of 40 of some of the developer's most iconic, and classic Arcade titles, as well as recently releasing SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy—which isn't a console exclusive but shows that they are supporting Nintendo and considering them when developing games.
At the time The King of Fighters XIV came out, the Nintendo Switch had not even been revealed yet, so it is very possible that the game could've been released on Nintendo's console if that hadn't been the case—much like SNK Heroines—and the fact that Yasuyuki Oda thinks that a port could still be plausible is definitely great news for fans of Nintendo and SNK's The King of Fighters series.
