Mortal Kombat 11 was one of last year's most out of left field announcements, pleasantly surprising fans of the long-running video game fighting series who haven't had a new game since 2015 — when Mortal Kombat X released.

Another surprise was to see that NetherRealm Studios was also including the Nintendo Switch as one of the platforms to release Mortal Kombat 11 on, which had some fans wondering how Nintendo's handheld hybrid console would handle the game in the graphics department; considering that the Switch is the less powerful platform of the bunch, and Mortal Kombat 11 looks simply fantastic.

As new information about NetherRealm Studios' highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 11 is revealed, we find out that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will be ported by Shiver Entertainment — who have previously worked on titles like Scribblenauts Showdown.

The Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 will undoubtedly look graphically inferior to other versions, but the Switch has managed to run DOOM, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Warframe thanks to the developers at Panic Button, so it is possible for graphically demanding titles to make their way into Nintrendo's portable console — albeit with a few necessary sacrifices. We'll just have to wait and see waht Shiver Entertainment does with Mortal Kombat 11.

The all new Custom Character Variations give you unprecedented control to customize the fighters and make them your own. The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. And featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on the 23rd of April in 2019.
