Earlier this week, a multitude of evidence surfaced online which seemed to reveal that a battle royale mode is coming to
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare very soon. Based on leaked images and in-game glitches, we know that the mode will be called
"Warzone." Based on what insiders have said, we know that it will be playable soon enough —
more on that here.
Despite the mode not having been officially announced nor released yet, some players have even been finding themselves placed within Warzone lobbies —
check that out here. If the newest update to
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare all but confirming Warzone in those instances isn't bad enough, it seems the newest update also added the battle royale's map.
Opening the new
"Atlas Superstore" map within the Private Match mode will allow you to become a COD Caster, fly around, and explore the map in full. Well, Infinity Ward and Activision probably didn't count on players doing this as it seems the Atlas Superstore is but a small portion of a much larger map — and players are speculating that this larger map is that of Warzone.
As you can see below, Twitter user
@PrestigeIsKey discovered some interesting landmarks outside of Atlas Superstore's boundaries. There's a large castlelike structure, what appears to be a sports stadium, and a military base — that features multiple aircrafts and aircraft hangers. What's more, the user even floated way up above the map and provided a top-down view of Warzone's map.
