The official Twitter account for the Alien franchise (@AlienAnthology) recently dropped a mysterious clip which many believe is hinting at a sequel to Alien: Isolation.

Releasing in 2014, Isolation featured the character of Amanda Ripley as its main protagonist - the daughter of Ellen Ripley (a character from the film series - of which the game is a spinoff from). This tweet appears to be beckoning the return of Amanda - the tweet outright mentioning her by name, describing her with the use of hashtags, and the attached video clearly featuring her nametag.

Check out the tweet below:

Many have taken this teaser as a pseudo-announcement of Alien: Blackout, a rumoured game that has been doing the rounds for quite a while now. Twitter accounts relating to Blackout have been spotted, and even Metal Gear Solid's Hideo Kojima is rumoured to be involved with the project.

However the tweet may be hinting at a comic series starring Amanda or even a movie - the latter is obviously incredibly unlikely. It being a teaser for Alien: Blackout is our best bet. We'll just have to wait and see how this develops.

What do you think of the tweet? Would you like for a sequel to Alien: Isolation to be announced?
