Battlefield 1 is doing what most first person shooter games will not, and that is going back to their roots. While other games series like Call of Duty are basically turning into Halo or some shooter overly saturated with fancy new weapons, Battlefield 1 takes us back to World War I, deep into the pure chaos that is war.
Part of what has made fans upset about recent first-person shooter games is that they've become less about the war you're character is in and more about what new imaginative gun or exosuit you'll be able to kill other 14 year old kids in multiplayer with. Battlefield 1 looks to change things up for the genre, and do what other games won't: Listen to its fans.
Battlefield 1 hits stores October 21st, 2016.
