A brand-new installment in the Battlefield franchise is set to arrive later this year, but that doesn’t mean DICE is ignoring Battlefield 1. Just a few months ago, a new set of DLC was released for the game which included plenty of new maps, and now the developers will be adding a brand-new game mode.
The upcoming mode is currently being dubbed “Shock Operations,” by the developers and will be released this June. Based on the details released the new mode is essentially a smaller scale version the standard Operations Mode, meaning it will focus on one singular map.
The focus on a single map is meant to get players who “don’t have time for a full Operations match” involved in the gameplay. So far, Giant’s Shadow, Prise de Tahure, Lupkow Pass, Zeebrugge, and River Somme are the only maps available for this mode. Though a majority of these maps are only available in other game modes if you are a premium pass owner, players who only own the base game will be able to access these maps for “Shock Operations.”
