EA announced during the earnings calls with investors in January that the next installment of the Battlefield series will launch in October. Last month, DICE senior video and media director Randy Evans confirmed that the trailer for the game is ready to be published. When a fan of the series asked him on Twitter where the trailer is and when we will see it, Evans replied, “it’s right in front of me”. He is no stranger to DICE's trailers as he's worked on trailers for the Mirror’s Edge reboot, and many Battlefield and Battlefront games.
Today, comedian, writer, and actor Trevor Noah revealed that he will be hosting the upcoming Battlefield live reveal event that will start on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. It's still unclear where the sequel of Battlefield 1 will take us to, as one rumor has it that DICE is currently working on Battlefield: Bad Company 3, while the other indicates that the studio will return to the World War II instead.
Noah gave as a small hint at the title of this year's Battlefield, as he added "V EXCITING!" at the end of his Tweet. Battlefield V would be pretty confusing, as the last major in the series was simply titled Battlefield 1, but Battlefield 2 would also not make sense as a game with this title launched in 2005. The next Battlefield will also be shown for sure during the annual EA's three day event (EA Play) that will be held from June 9-11 at the Hollywood Palladium, and live to the world on EA.com.
