It appears that EA's upcoming Battlefield game will be set in an alternative-reality World War 2. An image from Battlefield V showed up this morning on PlayStation Store, advertising tomorrow's Battlefield full reveal livestream. Details in the "accidentally" leaked art, like the soldier carrying M1 Carbine and M1911 (made in the US) appear to confirm previous rumors of the World War 2 setting.
The same situation happened two year ago, when Xbox Live displayed a cover image from Battlefield 1, also suggesting that game's release date, October 18, 2016. According to verified rumors, Battlefield V‘s story will be similar to that of Battlefield 1‘s, with the campaign taking place across a variety of locations and time periods during the World War II, this time following the German side of the conflict.
Apparently, each chapter will focus on the exploits of a different character, which will allow DICE to tell multiple stories with plenty of different gameplay mechanisms. Hopefully the campaign will live up to its promise, especially given that there will be no story mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops IV. Tomorrow's reveal of Battlefield V will come at 1 pm PT/4 pm ET/ 10 pm CET. Check out the art down below:
