As revealed by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (also known as the ERSB) today,
Borderlands Game of the Year Edition is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It's not even the first time the title leaked online, as the Korean Game Ratings Board confirmed its existence back in June 2018.
Considering that the new edition is probably based on 2009's
Borderlands, releasing a port for the current-gen machines wouldn’t make much sense, as you can play the looter shooter on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One right now via PlayStation Now and the Xbox One backward compatibility component.
Whatever this
Game of the Year Edition might be, we should learn more about it during PAX East 2019 and Gearbox Software's panel that will take place on March 28th running from 2:00 PM 3:00 PM EST.
Given that the said panel will feature "
never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises," there's a rather big chance that the fully-fledged remake of the first
Borderlands is indeed headed to PS4, XO, and PC. At the time of writing, Gearbox had not revealed any official plans to remaster
Borderlands.
