Call of Duty: Modern Warfare officially released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC back in October 2019. The latest instalment in the long-running first-person shooter series is a reboot of the popular subseries of the same name.
While the campaign featured the return and reimagining of fan-favourite characters such as Gaz, Captain Price, Nikolai, it also teased the reintroduction of even more — such as John "Soap" MacTavish and Simon "Ghost" Riley.
The second season of the game's multiplayer updates is now on the horizon and a teaser has just been released. This ominous, brief clip teases the return of both Ghost as well as the fan-favourite multiplayer map from
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 called Rust.
While it's pretty overt in revealing that Ghost is coming back, legitimately writing out
"Ghost Confirmed" at one point as well as featuring an eery, new look at the character, it's less obvious in Rust's case. A couple of blurry images flash up on screen and longtime fans of the franchise seem convinced that they're shots of the classic multiplayer map.
Season 2 kicks off on February 11th. Check out the teaser below (via
@Call of Duty):

The heart-racing fight will take you from London to the Middle East and other global locations, as this joint task force battles to stop full-scale global war. Lines will be drawn, your resolve will be tested, and the world will look to you to do what needs to be done.
