Gaming blog Kotaku reported earlier today that they have received some exclusive images and details regarding Modern Warfare 3 and that the game will be released on Tuesday, November 8 (2011). The platforms weren't specified, but it's safe to assume that the game will hit for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
According to report, the game will begin shortly after the conclusion of Modern Warfare 2, following a surprise attack on the United States by Russia. The game will apparently begin with the outbreak of World War III, including set-piece battles in New York, Paris, London, Dubai and other cities around the world.
The single-player campaign will consist of several characters, including a British SAS Operative, AC-130 gunship gunner, a tank driver, and a member of the Russian Federal Security Service, known by its acronym of the FSB. The single-player campaign appears to wrap up some of the unanswered questions and character fates of the first two Modern Warfare titles and also introduces new characters, who Kotaku believes, are destined for future Modern Warfare games. Most notably are two Delta Force operatives codenamed "Frost" and "Sandman".
The multiplayer will apparently include two new Spec Ops modes: "Survival" and "Mission."
There has been no official statements or announcements from Activision or Inifinity Ward, but there was a teaser trailer released for the game today, which we've included below for your viewing pleasure!
