During today's Call of Duty Next presentation, Activision and developer Treyarch revealed the specific details regarding the upcoming beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The beta for this year's game will take place over two weekends with more maps and modes introduced throughout the period.
The Black Ops 6 beta will kick off with Early Access on Friday, August 30 at 10AM PT. Anyone who has pre-ordered the game across any of the platforms (consoles or PC) will be able to play the Beta during this period. If you pre-ordered digitally, you won't need a Beta code; you're automatically registered to participate. This Early Access period ends on Wednesday, September 4 at 10AM PT.
Thankfully the wait for the next beta period won't be long after. The official Open Beta, which is available to anyone regardless of platform or pre-order status, will run from September 6 at 10AM PT through September 9 at AM PT.
Pre-loading is now available. According to Activision:
Players with Call of Duty and the Season 5.5 update installed will automatically receive the Beta as an update to their existing install.
New or returning players without Call of Duty installed can jump into the Black Ops 6 Open Beta by downloading it from their platform storefront.
Players will be able to preload Black Ops 6 Beta content starting on August 28. The fastest way to jump into the Beta immediately is to download the Season 5 Reloaded update and preload the Beta content before August 30.
Weekend One will open with three maps and four modes available. An additional three maps and modes will be added throughout the weekend. The maps and modes include:
- Derelict (Core Map)
- Scud (Core Map)
- Skyline (Core Map)
- Rewind (Core Map)
- Pit (Strike Map)
- Gala (Strike Map)
Playable modes will include Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Order, Face Off Team Deathmatch, and Face Off Kill Confirmed.
Weekend Two, the official Black Ops 6 Open Beta, will feature all of the Weekend One content plus the addition of two maps -- Babylon (Core Map) and Stakeout (Strike Map) -- as well as Gunfight game mode and Face Off Kill Order.
Those who participate in the Black Ops 6 beta won't have their progress carry over into the launch, but will earn a series of rewards that they can use once the full game releases. The Black Ops 6 beta rewards are unlocked when you reach certain levels in the beta:
- Level 2: “Beta Tester” Animated Emblem
- Level 6: “Beta Tag” Spray
