This week, Treyarch released a new cinematic trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies that teases the mode's second launch map, "Liberty Falls."
As previously teased in the lengthy Zombies deep dive: "Seemingly the epicenter of a Dark Aether outbreak, chaos is crawling through Liberty Falls, with much of the local population now succumbing to the results of a second, simultaneous dimensional breach."
The new cinematic trailer finds Edward Richtofen awake from a nightmare to news that dimensional breaches are occurring across the facility. Armed with a Wunderwaffe, Richtofen is able to fight his way past hordes of zombies, only to find himself snatched and whisked away by Sam, who appears to have broken free from the Forsaken, the huge device she was encased in at the end of Black Ops Cold War.
More details about what awaits at Liberty Falls will be shared at Call of Duty: NEXT this week on August 28th. In the meantime, we have the cinematic trailer below:
Liberty Falls is one of two launch maps that have been revealed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies. The other launch map, Terminus, is a maximum-security prison complex set in the Philippine Sea.
Treyarch is making some big changes to the fan-favorite Zombies mode, many of them addressing player feedback from past games. The developer recently offered a deep dive into the game mode's main mechanics as we return to round-based gameplay. As the developer previously explained:
At its most basic level, one of the first Black Ops 6 Round-Based Zombies maps involves you (and optionally, up to three additional teammates) exploring and eventually breaking out of a maximum-security prison complex called Terminus Island, with waves (or “rounds”) of undead foes to dispatch as you discover and complete objectives.
Delve a little deeper, and you realize your chances of survival are greatly enhanced by adept avoidance of the crowds of wandering corpses as you line up your killing blows, and just as importantly, by managing the main currencies of the game: Essence and Salvage.
While Zombies is one of Call of Duty's most beloved modes, Treyarch is looking to get even more newcomers into the mode with the introduction of an all-new guided mode. Set to release later in the season after each map's launch, Guided Mode offers players guidance through the Main Quests with rounds capped to certain stages of their quest progression.
We'll likely learn more about Black Ops 6 Zombies and its launch maps this week. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
