We had suspected that Treyarch and Activision were gearing up to share new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies details soon and, sure enough, today shared the first trailer Pulling back the curtain on the highly anticipated game mode, today's "Zombies Terminus Cinematic Trailer" reveals the narrative behind the two Black Ops 6 Zombies launch maps.
When we last left off in the Black Ops Cold War timeline, the CIA-led Requiem team succeeded in closing the last remaining dimensional portal. However, Requiem's senior staff members were arrested on the orders of the Project Director, Edward Richtofen.
Set over half a decade after their arrest, Black Ops 6 Zombies continues the Dark Aether storyline, "exploring the fortunes of key characters while also delving further into Richtofen’s motivations and goals."
The new trailer, which you can watch below, introduces us to the Terminus team: Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie "Mac" Carver, Oskar Strauss, William Peck, and brand-new to Call of Duty - Maya Aguinaldo.
After being imprisoned for over five years at a remote outpost in the Philippine Sea, the former members of Requiem stage a daring breakout. They are aided by the unexpected arrival of a mysterious Filipina smuggler and a former adversary. Unfortunately, their bid for freedom from Terminus Island coincides with another chaotic dimensional outbreak… Welcome to Black Ops 6 Zombies.
Today's trailer is just the tip of the iceberg for Black Ops 6 Zombies. The next extensive intel drop for the game mode will come on August 8th at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET.
Meanwhile, the viral Black Ops 6 Zombies website was updated with two more teasers, one of which seemed to reveal a brand new perk. Revealed on a satirical shopping channel, the advert was for an item called "Melee Macchiato." While we don't have specific details about the perk, the slogan "Knock out your troubles" alongside a logo that features a red boxing glove surrounded by birds and stars, seems to suggest the perk will enhance the effectiveness of melee weapons.
The perk is revealed as costing 2,500 Essence, which also suggests that Treyarch is ditching the pricing system in Cold War and returning to the linear pricing structure where each perk has a different cost but stays the same regardless of how many perks you have.
In addition to Zombies details, Activision is promising more information in the coming days and weeks ahead as we near the game's launch. Over the next couple of weeks, we'll dive deeper into the game and receive more details about Call of Duty: NEXT, Open Beta, and other important launch details.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
