Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is still weeks away from launch, but that hasn’t stopped leaks and this time, it’s coming from Activision itself. The publisher appears to have prematurely updated the game’s Season 1 roadmap, briefly revealing a festive variant of the fan-favorite Hijacked map called Sleighjacked before quickly removing it. But the internet caught it first.
The leak was first spotted by CharlieIntel, after the Sleighjacked map was listed on the Black Ops 7 Season 1 roadmap. While Activision swiftly took down the mention, it strongly suggests that Sleighjacked is planned as a holiday-themed multiplayer map potentially arriving as part of the first season update or during a limited-time Christmas event.
Map reskins for seasonal events have become a staple of the franchise, with Halloween and Christmas variants like Spooktown or Snowfight appearing in past titles. Sleighjacked looks to follow in that tradition, offering players a snowy twist on the beloved Hijacked yacht map from Black Ops 2.
Hijacked isn’t the only returning map in Black Ops 7. Activision has confirmed that multiple classic maps are making a comeback:
Nuketown - Arriving November 20th, just days after launch
Standoff - Returning with the Season 1 update
Meltdown - Back for the first time in 13 years
While a full roadmap breakdown is still pending, these returning maps signal a nostalgia heavy launch experience for long-time fans of the series.
As part of the game’s marketing ramp-up, Treyarch Studios has been releasing dev diary style videos. The latest focused on UI and progression systems, confirming that Prestige Rewards will return in Black Ops 7. Players will unlock exclusive cosmetics like operator skins and weapon blueprints upon reaching Prestige 1.
Customizable HUD themes will also be available across all three game modes Multiplayer, Campaign, and Zombies adding further personalization for players to enjoy.
While there were whispers of an earlier-than-expected release date or early campaign access through the Vault Edition, Activision has officially denied those claims. Black Ops 7 remains locked for release on Friday, November 14th, across:
- PlayStation 4 & 5
- Xbox One & Series X|S
- PC
With Sleighjacked likely joining the game’s holiday rotation and a powerful nostalgia play through returning Black Ops 2 maps, Black Ops 7 is shaping up to be a fan-service-heavy entry. Activision’s accidental leak may have spoiled the surprise, but it only adds to the mounting anticipation for the game’s first season.
Stay tuned for more updates when the official roadmap drops and maybe a closer look at that festive firefight on Sleighjacked as we get closer to Christmas.
