With last year's release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, older players of the franchise were welcomed with a reimagined story and even more advanced gameplay. Not only did the game feature returning characters such as Captain Price, but it also included a more updated online mode and the inclusion of Warzone, a battle royale extravaganza.
The new game's release has been an instant success and has adjusted well to a more live service style with new weapons, decorations, game modes, and much more. One of the inclusions that have become an enjoyable addition has been various types of operators, soldiers that can be played that come from various walks of life and branches of military worldwide.
As technology advances, so do the people that want to take a look under the hood of some of the most popular games. Dataminers have recently discovered that Modern Warfare has a new operator planned for release, and it's none other than the original Modern Warfare alumni, Soap MacTavish! The classic operator will return with new decorations, weapons, and his pickaxe from the classic MW2 mission "Cliffhanger."
There is no official release date for the character yet, but it seems safe to speculate that Soap will be coming to the game sooner rather than later. We would love to hear your thoughts on the announcement in the comments below!
The campaign follows a CIA officer and British SAS forces as they team up with rebels from the fictional country of Urzikstan, combating together against Russian forces who have invaded the country. The game's Special Ops mode features cooperative play missions that follow up the campaign's story.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for Playstation 4, PC and Xbox One!
