Techland Retains Ownership Of CALL OF JUAREZ, Re-Releases GUNSLINGER On Steam With A 33% Discount

Earlier this month, Ubisoft, the publisher of all four Call of Juarez games announced that the future of the series is in Techland's hands and the sudden disappearance of the third chapter of the series and much better Gunslinger (which was available mostly only in the digital form) from Steam, Xbox Live, and PlayStation Store was caused by some issues with the licensing / publishing rights.

Techland confirmed today what Ubisoft said two weeks ago and announced that the Call of Juarez rights reverted back to the Polish studio. “The Call of Juarez series received a great reception and support from a huge community of players,” Techland Publishing CPO Adam Lason said in a statement. “As Techland Publishing moves forward as a leading publisher, we are delighted to welcome Call of Juarez: Gunslinger to our publishing division … We would like to thank Ubisoft for its incredible work publishing the Call of Juarez games. We’ll continue the great efforts of Ubisoft and support the fans of the Call of Juarez universe in the same dutiful and passionate way.”

The studio also went a step further by re-releasing the delisted sequel, Gunslinger, on Steam with a 33% discount, which you can buy cheaper until April 4, 2018. It's still unclear what Techland will do next with the rights as we're still waiting to see the return of The Cartel (which was absolutely horrible, by the way). Techland Publishing has announced that the company will invest 300 million zlotys (almost $100 million) the develop two announced projects, one of them being a Dying Light sequel for sure, and maybe, just maybe, Techland is also working on a new Call of Juarez...
