When the original Destiny hit shelves, the game was plagued with issues that took quite a few expansions and patches to get everything where it needed to be. Now, the game is considered one of the best examples of the games as a service genre.
Operating as a mix of first and third-person shooters, Destiny brings the idea of creating a personalized space adventure to the forefront. Players take the role of guardian and defend the galaxy from all threats while gaining superpowers and powerful gears and weapons. Now, with the release of Destiny 2, the game has finally found its stride and is welcoming to all types of players, with its own list of DLC that continues to grow.
The newest update, coming later this year, is called Beyond Light, and the marketing for the new DLC has started to trickle in! Recently, a brand new gear and weapons trailer has started streaming, showing off some amazing weapons that play with singularities and even a chainsaw sword!

Following the events of Season of Arrivals, in which multiple Pyramid ships began invading the Solar System, a new power is born out of the ancient Pyramid ship above Jupiter's icy moon Europa, and a dark empire has risen beneath, united under the banner of the Fallen Kell of Darkness, Eramis, the Shipstealer. The Exo Stranger, last seen at the end of the original Destiny's campaign, calls Eris Morn and the Drifter to the Jovian moon to investigate the ship. The Exo Stranger explains that she comes from a different timeline where the Darkness won. Just as she had provided aid to the Guardian against the Vex six years ago, she has returned to the present time to help prevent the Darkness from claiming victory and causing a second Collapse.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches on November tenth on all major consoles (minus the Switch) and PC on November 10th!
