Destiny's Potential, A Leaked Photo and Much Much More!

Its been almost four months since the initial release of Destiny. There is so much more left to be desired . . . and that is a good thing! Here is why!

Bungie had big aspirations when it singed a 10 year deal with Activision. Since leaving Halo in the dust, they've created the second biggest game behind the Call of Duty franchise in 2015. Here is the proof! Now that they have proven themselves yet again, there is much much more to be desired! Here is why this is a good thing.

First: Bungie has a 10 year plan and wants to create a story line that is up to par with Lord of the Rings. Is that possible? Maybe, that is a tall glass to fill, so we will see. Bungie is all in on the Destiny franchise. They've been working on this for years now. Yes, the game has been received many different ways, but gamers need to look long term. There isn't any reason to give up on this game. It is the first game ever to attempt something of this size and magnitude so there will be growing pains. Look at what Blizzard did with World of Warcraft, Minus Mists of Pandaria... GameFragger refuses to even acknowledge its existence. This is where Destiny can take a page out of Blizzard's book if they haven't already.

Second: The game is oozing with potential and its has proved it so far. The one complaint the GameFragger has so far is the three player limit to strikes and a somewhat weak story line. Those are easy fixes and adjustments. With a full strike team (GameFragger's 2014 Holiday season)the game is really fun to play. Destiny left a lot of room to fill all the potential that every gamer saw when Destiny was first announced. The point is, the game is only going to get better! With more raids, strikes missions, loot and much much more that gamers can only dream of.

That being said there are improvements to be made. The story telling could use some more oomph... With the Dark Below being a little bit weak in the eyes of gamers. No cutscenes and a story line that just didn't make you feel like Crota and the missions were all that important. The story line of Destiny wasn't all that great either, but it comes down to this. A game like Destiny doesn't have another game to model itself after. Hopefully they can fulfill all the promise that the game really has.

This is where Bungie could take a page from Blizzard. Let players trade loot they receive, but only for a limited time after the raid or strike. Giving the multiplayer aspect another boost.

Recently a photo was leaked from a Bungie meeting, but it reveals what kind expansions (Including Destiny 2?) gamers can see on the horizon.

Destiny

From the photo you can see the original game followed by the first two expansions (can't really call them expansions) that we already know. There is, however, a "Comet: Plague of Darkness" game (a true expansion?) followed by two more expansions (really short DLCs...) that will follow what we already know.

The "Comet: Plague of Darkness" has a bunch of awesome possibilities! A huge comet with a bunch of fallen, hive and vex riding it like a rodeo cowboy headed for the traveler would be pretty amazing. It really looks like it would be the true "Expansion."

Destiny is the first of its kind, it will have growing pains and also, triumphs. GameFragger has been playing it a ton over the Holiday break and we are itching to get our hands on the new content and for the possibilities to come!
