As a person who REALLY REALLY wanted Destiny 2, it was hard to settle for another expansion. Especially after there were some leaked concept art from Bungie. Now the the Rise of Iron expansion is here, there is plenty to talk about!

After playing the game for a few straight days non stop, I'm okay with Rise of Iron. Keep in mind I REALLY REALLY wanted Destiny 2. Everyone should respect Bungie's decision to push it to next year, especially if that means they produce a polished game. Once again Bungie overpriced the expansion and once again I bought it. Compared to the Taken King, the Rise of Iron story line seems short. For being so short, gamers get a really cool story line that is easy to follow.

The story follows the Fallen that have unleashed SIVA, something that can enhance, build and beef up anyone who uses it. Lord Saladin, the one who swore to protect SIVA from falling in enemy hands fails at his mission and enlists guardians help to stop the threat. Overall the story is really fun and the last mission was a BLAST! The story mission's were missing one thing... the freaking Gjallahorn! For those who don't know what the g-horn is. It's a rocket launcher that destroys everything in its path and was the #1 weapon from year 1.

Everyone who pre-ordered the game got the Iron Gjallahorn as a pre-order bonus. Those who were looking forward to using it on day one were dissapointed to find out you needed the year 3 Gjallahorn to use the Iron G-Horn. You get the mission for the Gjallahorn after you finish the story missions, which leads to the next point. Why? The pre-order bonus was completely useless if everyone ends up with a G-Horn from a mission. Pre-order bonuses are really losing their spunk lately.

The new strike is going to cause a lot of problems as a nightfall. Pretty sure one of the top searches on google will be "The Wretched Eye Cheese Spot." The main boss in the strike uses SIVA to create an indestructible ogre that roams the map demolishing everything in its path. Really fun, but not looking forward to the nightfall.

There are a lot of goodies that Bungie throws in to make it worth guardians time after the story missions are finished. They introduced a new journal that guardians can complete for special gear and prizes. There are more ghosts to find along side the dormant SIVA fragments. One which is at the top of the new social space and requires you to jump up a mountain. The death toll is great.

Overall for those who have been playing Destiny will find that there is a lot to do and accomplish in game. However, hopefully Bungie does enough to keep guardians entertained until Destiny 2 comes out. A lot of guardians left the game a few months after the Taken King was released because there wasn't anything really to accomplish. Yes, they had an april update, but that was a little late for many people and players were lost to games like Rainbow Six Siege and The Division.
