LEGO Fortnite is receiving an update tomorrow that will add the ability to build your very own vehicles and cruise around in style in the survival game mode. Update v29.10, aka the "Mechanical Update" features tons of new content but chief among them are the vehicles.
Three new vehicles Buids will come to the game: the Speeder, ideal for zipping around the map; the Offroader, perfect for carrying multiple passengers; and the Hauler, perfect for transporting supplies. You can unlock the recipe for the Speeder by adding a Power Cell to your inventory. The recipe for the Offroader is unlocked by adding Flexwood (typically found in the Dry Valley biome) to your inventory. And the Hauler recipe is unlocked by adding Frostpine (found in the Frostlands biome) to your inventory. Once you unlock a recipe, you can create the vehicle from the Builds section of the Bild Menu.
Alternatively, you can create your own vehicles now. In the Toys section, you'll find Vehicle Parts such as the Power Center, Wheels and Seaters.
The Power Center is the engine, or battery, of your car. The more Power Centers you load on your vehicle, the longer it will drive.
There are two types of Wheels to choose from. Turnable Wheels can be attached to allow your vehicle to turn left or right. Powered Wheels simply propel your vehicle forward.
Lastly, you'll need a Driver's Seat, aka the steering wheel, to control and drive your vehicle. You can add some additional seats to allow friends to sit in your vehicle.
Vehicles in LEGO Fortnite will be powered by clean energy created by recycling old resources in the new Compost Bin station. You can literally throw any item from your inventory in here and it will turn them into resources like Biomass, Fertilizer and Soil. You'll need to create Biomass to unlock the Power Cell recipe. The Power Recipe also requires Glass, which can be found in bandit camps.
While vehicles are the highlight of update v29.10, some other notable additions and improvements. There's the new "smart transfer feature" which allows you to transfer all similar items to and from storage, and LEGO styles for dozens of Outfits, including A.I.M., Archetype, Beastmode, Highwire, Rabbit Raider, and more. The full change log for the Mechanical Mayhem update in LEGO Fortnite can be found here.
LEGO Fortnite is a separate game mode within Epic Games' Fortnite. It was released in December 2023, giving players a new type of open world survival game mode. Once in this mode, players can select a game world with customizable options including turning on or off hunger, hostile mobs, and dying. LEGO Fortnite supports of to eight players in a single world.
