More DC Character Skins Are Coming To FORTNITE, Including Possibly The DCU's SUPERMAN

While the first DC Universe-inspired games are still years away from being revealed, DC Studios co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran have revealed they are currently working with Epic for Fortnite.

Fortnite is no stranger to hosting crossovers with some of the world's biggest brands. From superheroes to anime, the game has seen just about everything come together on the battle royale island.

DC is one of the brands that has seen its characters added to Fortnite through skins that you can purchase through the Item Shop. There have currently been 24 DC skins added to Fortnite over the years, including multiple variations of Bataman, Catwoman, The Joker, Superman, Harley Quinn, and more. All of these characters are based on either existing comic books or movies, but we've yet to have any inspired by James Gunn's rebooted DC Universe.

To be fair, the new and improved DCU only recently started to ramp up its television and movie production with the first major blockbuster, Superman, scheduled to hit theaters this Summer.

Talking about the DCU's appearance in video games, Gunn revealed that they have been working with Warner Bros.' studios but admitted they are still "years away" from being revealed. In the meantime though, fans can look forward to some DCU-inspired characters added to Fortnite. While discussing the new collaborative approach to DC's video game development, which now runs through DC Studios co-chiefs Jame Gunn and Peter Safran, the duo teased upcoming collaborations with Epic Games on Fortnite.

“When you talk about interaction with our video game guys, with our gaming department, those are also things that historically there wasn't a lot of collaboration on,” DC Studios co-chief Safran said during a recent DC Universe presentation. “Now it's, hey, we're talking to Fortnite. Which characters should we focus on? Literally, James is signing off on designs.”

“I'm giving notes on designs,” Gunn added.

We're not sure exactly which characters from the DCU will make their way into Fortnite, but Superman is the first major release. I wouldn't be surprised to see characters from that blockbuster film added to Fortnite as some sort of marketing tool to build excitement.

While the first Superman trailer gave us our first look at David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, there are plenty of other DC characters who were teased that could make fine additions to the Fortnite roster. Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Mister Terrific, Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl were just some of the characters not named Superman who could be added to Fortnite as character skins. Heck, even Krypto could make an apperance!

Superman is scheduled to fly into theaters on July 11th which means any sort of collaboration in Fortnite could happen before then. Which characters would you like to see from the DCU come to Fortnite?
