Blizzard's Overwatch has just kicked their new "Winter Wonderland" themed event for all players to have a part in. The even started today and is scheduled to end on January 2nd, 2017. With these event means new cosmetic items for players to purchase and unlock. The loot boxes that players can get in the game are now themed after the event, and have 100 different cosmetic items on hand for players to get. This includes victory poses, sprays, icons, emotes, highlight intros, and skins.

The Winter Wonderland event isn't only releasing new cosmetic content however, as a new game mode, "Mei's Snowball Offensive", has also been released with it. The game mode is six versus six, and all players play different versions of Mei who are equipped with a modified version of her gun. This gun fires off snowballs and is reloaded by finding piles of snow on the map. Her ultimate ability is also different, as it allows for her gun to turn into a semi automatic rifle that fires snowball after snowball.

And two maps in the game are now covered in snow to fit the Winter Wonderland motif.
