The Clone Wars are upon us in Star Wars Battlefront II and it's finally time to restore balance to the force. EA announced today that Obi-Wan Kenobi will be arriving next week with the Battle of Geonosis update on November 28.

A member of the Jedi Council, a general for the Galactic Republic, and eventually a mentor to Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan's rich legacy transcends eras. But it was his role in the Clone Wars that inspired Obi-Wan's representation in Star Wars Battlefront II

In terms of combat, Obi-Wan excels in defensive lightsaber combat and use of the Force. His abilities have been designed to reflect his mastery of defensive combat and as such, Obi-Wan's blocking skills are the best out of any Jedi in the game. Complementing his stamina and "near perfect" defense are powerful, chained melee attacks.

"Our intention is to make him feel like the general we follow throughout the Clone Wars, where he commanded the 212th Attack Battalion," EA said of the character's design.

With that in mind, many of you may recognize his Defensive Rush Ability, "where Obi-Wan rushes forward while swinging his lightsaber, deflecting blaster shots with flawless accuracy and damaging enemies in front of him."

As for his appearance, Obi-Wan has been modeled after Ewan McGregor's portrayal of the character in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. But he's voiced by James Arnold Taylor, who also provided the voice for the character in The Clone Wars animated series. Obi-Wan Kenobi will release with his default Jedi Master Appearance (above), but his alternative Robed Appearance (below) will also be available for purchase with Credits or Crystals. Looking further ahead, the General Kenobi Appearance - "a nod to his time as commander for the 212th Attack Battalion" - will be available for Credits or Crystals at a later date.
