During Microsoft's E3 2018 media briefing, Ubisoft confirmed that Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will be released on March 15, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game’s official banner has already revealed that players will leave New York and will try to fight the aftermath of a smallpox pandemic in Washington D.C. It looks like the upcoming sequel will embrace its survival side even more.
According to the newly releases synopsis, seven months have passed since a deadly virus hit New York City and the rest of the world, crippling the population. When the virus hit, The Division, a unit of civilian sleeper agents, was activated as the last line of defense. Since then, Division agents have been fighting relentlessly to save what remains. For The Division, the stakes are higher than ever. Washington, D.C. – the most heavily protected city on earth – is at risk, leaving the entire nation on the brink of collapse.
Ubisoft also showcased a detailed gameplay featuring a team trying to stop the fall of society after the pandemic collapse. This unit moves on the streets of the fallen city and finally has a chance to explore the rusting Air Force One. It looks like your enemies will be self-serving members from within the collapsing US Government: the phrase "agents of a corrupt state" was used. Take a look:
