CALL OF DUTY: MOBILE: Maps, Scorestreaks, Playable Characters, Game Modes, And More Revealed

Activision recently posted a blog post which revealed a ton of information about their upcoming Call of Duty: Mobile game such as multiplayer maps, game modes, playable characters, and more.

Activision has revealed a ton of information about the upcoming Call of Duty: Mobile game. Currently within pre-registration stages, this Call of Duty mobile game will compile multiple generations of a the long-running shooter series into one. Though a release date is currently unknown, Call of Duty: Mobile will be coming to iOS and Android, first with a beta.

A recent blog post has revealed the many maps, characters, scorestreaks, and game modes that will be introduced into the mobile game from various instalments of the franchise. Though this article only details the multiplayer mode, the mobile experience will also feature a Zombies and battle-royale mode.

The following characters from Call of Duty history will be playable in the game, though presumably they're only cosmetic and will play the same as each other: Alex Mason (Black Ops), David Mason (Black Ops 2), Thomas A. Merrick (Ghosts), Simon "Ghost" Riley (Modern Warfare 2), John "Soap" MacTavish (Modern Warfare), John Price (Modern Warfare 3).

On the maps side of things: Crossfire (Modern Warfare), Standoff (Black Ops 2), Crash (Modern Warfare), Killhouse (Modern Warfare), Firing Range (Black Ops). This is on top of Nuketown (Black Ops) and Hijacked (Black Ops 2) which were previously revealed.

Scorestreaks are as follows: Recon Car, UAV, Hunter Killer Drone, Air Supply Drop, Counter UAV, Missile Strike, Drone, Sentry Gun, SAM Turret, Stealth Chopper, and VTOL.

The blog post also revealed five game modes that will feature in the mobile game, all of which have featured in previous instalments, they are as follows:
  • Free-For-All: The classic every-player-for-themselves deathmatch.
  • Frontline: After spawning at a team base, defeat players on the opposing team.
  • Team Deathmatch: The classic defeat-players-on-the-opposing-team mode.
  • Hardpoint: Capture and hold the hardpoint to earn points.
  • Domination: Capture and hold the designated positions to gain points.

Activision also detailed that the game will feature two different modes to help ease players into Call of Duty on a mobile device. One seems easier on mobile, however, the other is more akin to previous Call of Duty experiences.

Simple Mode allows automatic fire when your crosshair focuses on an enemy (which sounds helpful, but eats up ammunition), with the option to limit the range of auto-firing from the hip.

Advanced Mode introduces more subtleties to your game; with manual firing, HUD customizations, and the ability to choose how you’re holding each weapon type. For example, you can default your Shotguns to Hip firing, and your Assault Rifles to ADS (Aim Down Sight).
