Over the last few years, the rise of DLC has led game developers to start hiding/planting code for these expansions withing the game's vanilla version at launch. This in turn has led to gamers going "under the hood" and looking at a game's files and folders to see what's being used and what's being sectioned off for later use.
Case in point, some of the files for Destiny 2's next two Expansions are already hidden within the game. While datamining a console is fairly difficult, doing so on PC is marketedly easier. As such, Destiny 2's launch on PC on October 24. One particular

THE RED LEGION ARE NOT GOING AWAY
-
There are several references to the Red Legion expanding their control over old and new locations so it seems that even with the defeat of Dominus Ghaul, his army is far from defeated.
CURSE OF OSIRIS CLUES
-
There are audio files indicating that players will be venturing to Mercury for the Curse of Osiris DLC, however, that's previously known information. What's knew is the fact that Cayde-6's protege Shiro-4 will have his absence during Destiny 2's main campaign explained by the fact that he was on Mercury, investigating something related to the upcoming DLC. Audio files also reveal that Major Spoiler: [Osiris will be returning to The Tower at the end of the DLC. Perhaps he's replacing The Speaker?]
WARMIND RASPUTIN EXPASION II

Audio files indicate that Phobos will be the locastion for this DLC and that Lord Saladin will be the main Quest Giver for this expansion. Phobos was a patrol area in Destiny 1 that was the primary base of the Cabal and was also the first place The Taken attacked in The Taken King expansion.
OLD DESTINY 1 CHARACTERS AND LOCATIONS

Several Destiny 1 locations including Venus, Mars, Oryx's Dreadnaught ship , Old Russia, and the Awakens' Prison of Elders are referenced in some audio files. What's more interesting is the fact that it sounds as if The Red Legion have taken over these areas. This has led to speculation that players will be returning to these areas and playing remixed versions of these missions/events - similar to how the arrival of The Taken altered the mechanics and strategy of several Strikes and Raids during The Taken King expansion
-
The Dawning event has already been confirmed to return but there are also audio files for several NPC characters referncing Crimson Days and the Festival of the Lost, despite the fact that the latter has been confirmed as not returning for Halloween this year.
-
The Sparrow Racing League or SRL is also confirmed to return, along with infamous racer Marcus Ren.
-
There's a line of Ikora which mentions the House of Dusk, a Fallen house that worships The Darkness. Perhaps they have ties to Destiny 2's ending cutscene?
While the information about Curse of Osiris is being taken as gospel, there's currently red hot debate within the Destiny 2 communitty about whether the other audio files are simply scrapped material or
