Fortnite's set for a major update next month with the arrival of Chapter 3. The new season will apparently bring with it new mechanics like sliding, new weapons like a throwable battle axe, and it seems that even a certain webslinger himself will be swinging into the battle royale scene at long last — more on that here.
Speaking of Marvel Comics characters coming to Fortnite, the latest addition to the massive multiplayer online game is none other than Nicholas J. Fury, better known simply as Nick Fury. He's the enigmatic director of S.H.I.E.L.D. portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Samuel L. Jackson. It seems his Fortnite design has taken some cues from that version of the character.
Fury brings new back bling in the form of the 'F.I.E.L.D. Pack Back Bling' which features two purely cosmetic glocks and a S.H.I.E.L.D. logo. Fury packs a punch with the all-new 'Director's Scythe Pickaxe,' which also features the recogniseable S.H.I.E.L.D. logo. Additionally, there's a new glider, the 'First-Strike Infiltration Glider' which appears to have taken some design inspiration from the iconic S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjets., spewing an awesome blue thrust
The new Nick Fury skin and the S.H.I.E.L.D. set are now available in the item shop. The latter items can be used with any skin, you aren't just limited to using them along with Fury, of course. The skin and items can be purchased individually, however, if you opt to buy the bundle including everything, you'll also get the awesome 'Quinjets in Flight Loading Screen.'
