It seems that the next chapter of Fortnite on the horizon and, just like the introduction of Chapter 2, will seemingly bring with it even more gameplay mechanics and map changes. A couple of weeks back, reputable Fortnite leaker HYPEX (@HYPEX) revealed a new gameplay mechanic discovered in the game's files.
Knee-sliding; but not only that, knee-sliding and retaining the ability to shoot. This leaker proposed that the speed of a player's slide would be determined by the surface they're sliding against as well as its angle. It's said there's a two-second delay between each slide, and your FOV will increase by fifteen when doing so.
Now Epic Games has released an official promo image for an upcoming update to Fortnite which seems to confirm HYPEX's scoop. We can quite clearly see a player sliding on their knees into battle, a pose that simply doesn't exist in the game yet.
Additionally, looking beyond the knee-slider in the forefront, these players appear to be in the midst of battle in a new location: a sprawling city street. You can check out the official, new image for yourself below. What do you think of the new sliding mechanic?
