Last weekend's volcano eruption in Fortnite destroyed Tilted Towers, one of the game's most popular landing spots. But as expected, the metropolis has been rebuilt with Season 9 and it's bigger and better than before.

Fortnite Season 9 takes players into the future, following the catastrophic in-game event and much of the map has been updated. Arising from the ashes of Tilted Towers is Neo Tilted, a futuristic, sci-fi city that's reminiscent of something out of an 80s movie. While the layout is almost identical to what was formerly Tilted Towers, Neo Tilted has a much sleeker design, complete with bright neon lights and slipstreams, a new wind transportation system that passively carries players down stream when they jump through.

Neo Tilted isn't the only location that has been given a sci-fi makeover. Mega Mall has taken the place of Retail Row, another point of interest that was destroyed by the volcano. Mega Mall has sort of a retrofuturistic design, imagining what a mall in the future might look like.

Pressure Plant is another new point of interest on the map, resting where the volcano is located. The pressure plant appears to be keeping the volcano calm and is even perhaps harnessing its energy to power the new futuristic locations on the map.

Loot Lake and Junk Junction still remain, but have been given slight makeovers. Loot Lake's buildings have been upgraded to match the futuristic look of Season 9 and there are now pipes of energy well. Meanwhile, Junk Junction is now home to all of the old, outdated items that have been thrown away from Tilted Towers, including the iconic clock tower's timepiece.

One final addition to the map are hovering Sky Platforms. These new structures are floating in air and add a new verticality element to Fortnite, allowing players to easily navigate the map with the built-in Slipstreams.

The volcano has erupted and forever changed some long lasting locations - from the ashes, Neo Tilted rises. Grab the squad to explore the bright lights of new attractions like Peely’s Banana Stand and Nugget Hut. Catch a ride and quickly traverse areas by flying in and out of the new Slipstream wind transportation system.

Fortnite Season 9 is now live.
