During BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard Entertainment announced Overwatch 2. Long rumoured and technically revealed a week ago through leaks; Overwatch 2 is a sequel to the popular competitive first-person shooter which initially released back in 2016.

While retaining the online PvP of its predecessor, the sequel will introduce a lot more PvE content and even an actual story mode. As well, Overwatch 2 will feature improved overall visuals on account of its new engine. At that, it's not just the game itself that's been given a makeover. Seemingly every one of its playable heroes have been redesigned.

Thus far, in the game's exciting animated cinematic and gameplay trailer, we've seen seven returning heroes — and a new one named Sojourn. Blizzard has released an official video which details the new character designs for Tracer, Genji, Lúcio, Mei, Winston, Mercy, and Reinhardt. We're shown the obselete version and then the snazzy, modern version in a cool slideshow.
