Behaviour Interactive has announced that the popular 2v8 mode will return to Dead by Daylight from April 28 to May 19, 2026, alongside a fresh wave of Attack on Titan crossover cosmetics. The limited-time mode, which pits two Killers against eight Survivors, has proven highly popular each time it has been reintroduced, and this latest run includes several balance tweaks and map adjustments based on player feedback.

The 2v8 format doubles the scale of a standard trial, creating chaotic, high-stakes matches that reward strong teamwork and coordination. For this iteration, Behaviour has made the following changes:

  • Deathslinger receives reduced penalties for reloading and missed shots, improving his viability in the larger-scale mode.
  • The Oni gets a slight nerf to his Demon Mode uptime after downing a Survivor, making him easier for coordinated Survivor teams to manage.
  • Temple of Purgation and Ironworks of Misery have been added to the map rotation and modified to better support 2v8 gameplay.
  • The Cage System has been updated with faster relocation times and a brief pause in the bleed-out timer when a cage moves. This encourages more dynamic rescue plays while helping keep matches balanced and paced.

These adjustments aim to make the 2v8 experience feel smoother and more strategic without sacrificing the mode’s signature intensity.

The beloved Attack on Titan collaboration from 2022 is making a comeback, bringing both the original cosmetic collection and several new outfits. The new additions include:

  • Attack Titan Legendary Outfit — Available for The Trapper, transforming the hulking Killer into the massive, powerful Titan form.
  • Cleaning Levi — Very Rare outfit for Jake Park.
  • Mikasa’s Dark Uniform — Very Rare outfit for Yui Kimura.
  • Sasha’s Uniform — Very Rare outfit for Thalita Lyra.
  • Queen’s Ball Attire — Available for Renato Lyra, Adam Francis, Mikaela Reid, and Haddie Kaur.
  • Heart of Freedom Outfit — Available for Feng Min and Meg Thomas.

In addition to the new cosmetics, the original 10-piece Attack on Titan collection from 2022 will once again be available in the in-game store during the event period. Completing special in-game quests tied to the crossover will reward players with a banner, badge, and charm.

The 2v8 mode will run for exactly three weeks, giving players ample time to experience the doubled chaos and test the updated Killer balance. The Attack on Titan cosmetics provide a fresh visual flair for both Killers and Survivors, allowing fans of the anime to represent their favorite characters while escaping (or hunting) in the Fog.

This combined event is a smart move by Behaviour Interactive, pairing one of the community’s favorite limited-time modes with a popular crossover that still has strong nostalgia value. The tweaks to 2v8 should help address some of the balance concerns from previous iterations, while the new cosmetics give players fresh customization options to show off during the event.

With the 2v8 mode and Attack on Titan content both returning on April 28, the next few weeks are shaping up to be an exciting time for Dead by Daylight players. Whether you prefer hunting as a Killer or surviving as part of a larger group, the updated mode and fresh cosmetics offer new ways to enjoy the game.

The event runs until May 19, so make sure to jump in and experience the doubled chaos while it lasts. Keep an eye on official channels for any last-minute balance adjustments or additional crossover details as the event approaches.
