In April, Madmind Studio revealed that the censorship in A
gony was required to ensure that the game will be released on both consoles, but the PC owners will have the option to completely remove it downloading a free patch. A quick look at a trailer or gameplay for
Agony suggests that there was a lot to remove, as the game feature hordes of naked demons, genitals, and even eating babies.
That plan has been scrapped as Madmind announced today that they have "
managed to include a lot of things that we originally wanted to provide in the patch in the final game. It has been accepted by PEGI and other rating companies." The dev ensures that none of the scenes we've seen in the trailers have been censored at all, and
Agony will feature those on all platforms. Are you ready?
Agony features: brutal sex scenes, lesbian and gay sex scenes, genital physics, eye gouging, heart plucking, children heads exploding, setting fire to martyrs and demons, intense violence, strong language, and drugs on X1, PS4, and PC.
Agony has been accepted by PEGI and other rating companies.
When it comes to the Adult Only patch, it won't be released due to some "
legal issues." According to Madmind Studio, "t
hat content does not affect the game in any significant way because the deleted material that was supposed to be added in the latest version of the patch is from two endings (out of seven) and some scenes that may be unlocked only after the end of the game."
Instead, the Polish developer will publish a "
comparison video" on May 30, "
so you will not miss out [on] anything."
The game's Kickstarter update page features uncensored gifs so check them out HERE.
