For a long time in Fortnites Battle Royale mode, the meta was at the point where most players used to double up on pump shotguns in coordination with each other to nuke all of their enemies. This was called "Double Pumping", you could cancel the pump reload for the pump shotgun by switching to another pump shotgun. Epic Games had nerfed that in the most recent patch of season 3.
By pairing two pumps together, and eliminating the drawback of the pump shotgun, players who could gain access to multiple shotguns were getting an unfair advantage that Epic Games never intended to be available.
Even though the 'Double Pump' is gone, it hasn't taken very long for something just as strong to replace it. Epic Games recently released a new weapon to Fortnite, the hand cannon.
The hand cannon is an extremely powerful pistol, essentially an apt named desert eagle. It's a pretty balanced weapon when you have one, but when you have two, balance is thrown out the window. Just like with two pump shotguns, you can swap between two hand cannons to negate reload time and quickly mow down enemies. Epic Games did say that they would be monitoring other weapon types for similar concerns, so enjoy the new combo while you can.
