The first chapter—written by George Mann with art by Mike Collins (a veteran of Doctor Who seasons nine and 10)—invites players to join the Twelfth Doctor and Missy as they unite against THE DALEK INVASION OF TIME!
Just like many of the characters it portrays, the upcoming adventure is a bit of a mystery. RadioTimes.com hinted at “match-three-gems-style challenges” and “story-based campaigns.” But Tiny Rebel Games remains mum.
“We aren’t revealing many gameplay details at this time, so early on,” Executive Producer Susan Cummings told the blog. “But what we can tell you is that there will be many differences revealed at launch.” Cummings also added “Whilst the core mechanic of manipulating detachable gems is still present, we’re going massively beyond what we’ve done—or honestly what anyone has done—to create rich narratives that our players will engage within a wide variety of ways, to experience Doctor Who stories like never before,”
That is to say, “Infinity” is not a sequel to “Doctor Who: Legacy,” the company’s popular free-to-play title, which originally starred Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor, before Peter Capaldi’s incarnation took over.
Expected for release in spring 2018, “Doctor Who: Infinity” features five original tales from a team of seasoned Whovian writers and comic book artists. Following a soft launch in early spring, “Doctor Who: Infinity” will go live globally on Android, iOS, and PC in late spring.
