Earlier today, during PlayStation's State of Play presentation, developer Number None and publisher Thekla gave fans of the time-bending title Braid a very pleasant surprise, by revealing that an anniversary edition will be released for platforms next year.
Braid, Anniversary Edition is an enhanced version of the original Braid that was released in April of 2009, plus some new features like commentary from the developers, and slightly more polished graphics that give the game a fresh, and yet familiar look.
The original Braid, for those of you who may not be familiar with this spectacular title, is a puzzle game that also featured some platforming, but the most interesting aspect of it was its innovative gameplay, which allowed players to manipulate time in order to solve some very cleverly crafted puzzles.
The anniversary edition will be including everything that made the original title a household name, not to mention a masterpiece, and the developers at Number None have confirmed that Braid, Anniversary Edition will release for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, macOS, Windows, and Linux at some point in Q1 of 2021.
With the announcement, the developers have also shared a gameplay trailer that gives players a pretty good idea of what to expect from Braid, Anniversary Edition — showing off the changes that have been made.
Take a look:
Braid is a puzzle-platformer, drawn in a painterly style, where you can manipulate the flow of time in strange and unusual ways. From a house in the city, journey to a series of worlds and solve puzzles to rescue an abducted princess.
Braid, Anniversary Edition is expected to launch for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, macOS, Windows, and Linux in 2021.
