Whenever a game is announced for all current platforms, Nintendo fans always wonder if the said game will try to aim for graphics or stability in regards to frames per second on the Nintendo Switch — especially given that the handheld hybrid console is definitely less powerful than other platforms.
Some studios like Panic Button have managed to successfully port games like
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and
Warframe to the Nintendo Switch, although some sacrifices had to be made; with both titles getting some slight graphical downgrades.
In a recent interview with Vooks,
Team Sonic Racing Producer Takashi Iizuka revealed that this will not be the case with the Nintendo Switch version of Sega's upcoming racing title, as the experience will be the same across all platforms.
"
Our goal is providing the same experience to any users. Therefore, there are no Switch specific features in Team Sonic Racing. But Switch users have a benefit to be able to bring and play this game anywhere."
While this does sound very good on paper, it is likely that the game will experience some sort of downgrade in either graphics or FPS, but it is reassuring to know that at least they're trying to provide the same experience for everyone.
