Following the recent launch of
Darksiders III's Horde-like game mode, The Crucible, Gunfire Games has released a New Game+ mode, allowing you to put your skills to the test in the Armageddon update.
According to the hard-working development team at Gunfire Games, there are
"9 levels of Armageddon, completing one unlocks the next level. With each new level of Armageddon, the difficulty increases, new items will begin to drop, and new encounters begin to appear. Items and their upgrade levels carry over, however the weapons must be reacquired through natural . Weapon levels are maintained, but still locked behind acquiring them via in game events. All DLC progression will be reset upon starting a new Armageddon Mode, and must be unlocked again naturally in the new playthrough. All rewards and tokens will carry over into the new game."
The Armageddon component is not the only feature of the update, as the free DLC also contains all-new achievements and trophies, a brand-new enemy, some fresh armor upgrades and additional XP boosters, and the all-new Reckoning Difficulty, where Fury’s dodge windows are way smaller, the enemies hit harder, and can withstand more damage. Considering that this
Souls-like game already is pretty hard to beat, the debuting difficulty will surely extend your time with the game even more.
Darksiders III was released in November to a rather mixed critical reception as the slasher reviewed best on PC with a Metacritic score of 73, with Xbox One just behind it at 69. Although the title didn't manage to live up to the quality of its predecessors (mostly the first game that is still viewed as the best entry in the long-running franchise), it did tease the future of the series and the arrival of Strife.
