We have some exciting news for fans of the Final Fantasy series, as new information seems to suggest that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will not only be featuring online multiplayer, but also some classic couch co-op like the original Nitnendo GameCube title.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition was announced in September of last year, but Square Enix had barely given us any updates on the upcoming title; not even an official release date, in fact.
A few days ago, actually, Square Enix finally shared some news about the project — releasing a brand-new, albeit a tad short, gameplay trailer, and also revealing that the game will be launching for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices on the 27th of August.
Interestingly enough, neither the new trailer nor the official website for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition revealed that couch co-op would also be included in the game.
The information about couch co-op being part of the game actually comes from PlayStation's website for the game, where it clearly says that players will be able to "Join up to three friends for online adventures, or bring everyone together around one TV for couch co-op play in your quest to save civilisation."
PlayStation's website for the game is the only one mentioning this, although it is very likely that all of the other versions — particularly because they're handheld/mobile devices — will also feature the classic couch co-op the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was known for.
FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES Remastered Edition is an enchanting action RPG that follows a young group, known as the Crystal Caravans, as they embark on an epic journey to search for myrrh, a precious and rare liquid needed to cleanse and maintain a crystal protecting their world from the deadly gas, miasma.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android on the 27th of August.
