Square Enix's The Last Remnant is a role-playing game that was originally released for the Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows back in 2008. Last week, the developer announced that a remastered version of the game was headed to the PlayStation 4, surprising a lot of fans of the game.

Given that, at one point, a PlayStation 3 port of The Last Remnant was considered(although it never saw the light of day), fans will now be able to play this game with remastered graphics in Unreal Engine 4—providing a far more detailed experience, from a technical standpoint, than the one they got on the original Xbox 360 version.

Today, Square Enix has released a new video that puts the Xbox 360 version and the newly remastered PlayStation 4 version of The Last Remnant side-by-side in order to compare the changes in graphics. As it is expected from a remaster, The Last Remnant Remastered looks crisper and a lot more detailed, while still remaining faithful to the original version.

Take a look:

Mitra, yama, qsiti, sovani... These four races exist in one world. A world filled with Remnants — mysterious artifacts from an ancient era.

The Last Remnant Remastered will be available for the PlayStation 4 on the 6th of December.
