Code Vein—Bandai Namco's newest role-playing game inspired by gameplay mechanics found in games like
Dark Souls and
Bloodborne—has finally been given an official release date and will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the
28th of September.
Over the past couple of months, details about the title has been pretty scarce and most of this information came from players who got the chance to play
Code Vein at the PAX East event and some photos released online—which gave us a rough idea of what the game would actually be about.
Gameplay-wise, the game is pretty much what you would expect from a
Bloodborne or
Dark Souls title, with the huge difference that in
Code Vein players will be able to side with an AI partner to help them fight the monsters. Now we got an official story trailer that sheds light on the events leading up to
Code Vein, the main reason behind Revenants turning against each other, the real threat within this collapsed world, and who the new successor to the Queen is—s well as the real intentions of the former Queen.
We also get a first look at the Collector's Edition for
Code Vein, which comes with a collector box, a figurine of Mia Karnstein, a physical copy of the game, and digital in the form of the game's original soundtrack, original artbook and the Insatiable Thirst in-game customisable set. Pre-orders will include the Venomous Claw Weapon, as well as the
Godeater Collaboration Weapon Set—which includes the Blanched Greatsword, Cerulean Spear, and Crimson Longsword.

In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood.
Code Vein will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 28th of September.
