Pearl Abyss put a date on the first paid add-on for Crimson Desert. Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown launches worldwide October 15 at 10 PM UTC. That is 3 PM Pacific, 6 PM Eastern, 11 PM BST in the UK, and midnight CEST on October 16 in continental Europe. Asia follows October 16 at 7 AM Korea and Japan time.
Pre-orders are up now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The DLC is €24.99 or £19.99. Other storefronts list local prices. Some places have had the U.S. tag at $24.99. PlayStation and Xbox pre-orders get 10 percent off for a limited window. Pre-order extras are the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka, and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane. Mac is out at launch. Pearl Abyss said it will post separately if that version comes later. Check out the trailer below:
Your journey in Pywel continues with Charting the Unknown, an upcoming Crimson Desert DLC arriving October 15, 2026
The pitch for the DLC is adventuring through Pywel with a coastline. You take a ship past the shores you already walked, hit uncharted islands, then drop under the water for ruins, treasure, and whatever Pearl Abyss parked on the seabed. New enemies show up on land and at sea. The studio calls them some of the hardest fights in the game so far. The State of Play trailer that dropped with the date showed the boat, the dive, and the kind of oversized threats the base game already liked to throw.
Housing gets an upgrade. You build and dress a home, rent and run facilities for money, and spend more time with Pywel’s NPCs. The trailer walked through placement tools that look like a full decorate-and-live layer, not a trophy room. New story threads run an ominous desert presence, a political fight, a trip beyond time, and an old secret under the waves. Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane each keep moving on their own tracks.
Crimson Desert shipped March 19, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series, Steam, Epic, and Mac. It runs on Pearl Abyss’s BlackSpace Engine, the same house tech behind Black Desert. The setup is open-world action: the Greymanes get wrecked in a night ambush by the Black Bears, Kliff tries to pull the clan back together, and the map fills with ruins, cities, and bosses. Combat chains swords, axes, spears, bows, and grapples. You climb and glide across Pywel. Pearl Abyss kept feeding free updates after launch. Charting the Unknown is the first thing that costs extra.
October 15 is six weeks from the State of Play drop. That is a short gap for a pack that adds a sea layer, a housing pass, and four story lanes. The company is also still building DokeV and PLAN 8 on the same engine. Crimson Desert was the single-player swing after years of Black Desert live service. This DLC is the test of whether Pywel can hold a second map that is water instead of more desert.
If you already finished the Greymane story and stayed for the free patches, this is the paid ocean. If you bounced in March, Pearl Abyss is betting ships and a house will pull you back.
